Patricia Louis - School Librarian, Aliamanu Elementary School
Patricia Louis has been the school librarian at Aliamanu Elementary School in Honolulu, Hawaii for the past 15 years. Prior to that she was the librarian at Kahalu'u Elementary School in Kaneohe, Hawaii and an Outreach Librarian for the Native Hawaiian Library Project.
Patricia is currently the Co-President for the Hawaii Association of School Librarians and has previously served as the Association's Director of Nominations and Chair for Professional Development.

Dr. Violet Harada - Professor, University of Hawaii at Manoa
Violet Harada is a professor of library and information science in the Department of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of Hawaii. In addition to her teaching duties, she coordinates the school library specialization for the Library and Information Science Graduate Program.
She has published numerous articles and books on how K-12 students learn best and teaching practices that help students achieve their learning goals and is a frequent speaker at state, national and international conferences. Among her latest books are Assessing for Learning: Librarians and Teachers as Partners with Joan Yoshina (2nd edition, Libraries Unlimited, 2010) and Librarians as Learning Specialists: Meeting the Learning Imperative for the 21st Century with Allison Zmuda (Libraries Unlimited, 2008).
